Emma Patterson Taylor on the Women in Food & Agriculture Summit

Emma Patterson Taylor, SAOS’s lead on sustainability, tells us about the first Women in Food and Agriculture Summit that she attended last week in Amsterdam.

The  summit enabled different sectors within the supply chain to learn from each other, build strategic relationships and pin point partnership opportunities to take businesses and personal development to the next level. Those attending heard from influential leaders in the industry, and there was a strong focus on bringing together views and business knowledge to help empower women within the sector.

Emma told us: “It was a fantastic two days of jam packed content, with speakers ranging from CEOs of large multinationals, to independent starts ups in Brazil, talking about everything from the challenge of climate change to the need for personal resilience.

We were set the target of making ten new contacts which was so easy to achieve. It’s the most productive, friendly and welcoming networking opportunity I’ve ever been to. I’ve found a new mentor who responded immediately when I reached out and have made connections with people who I know will bring real value to projects I am currently working on.”

There are plans for this to be an annual event, to find out more and sign up for news go to: https://www.wfasummit.com
