Have you ever thought about being a director?

Varied life experiences and perspectives are great ways to bring diversity of thought to a Board of Directors and are highly valued by organisations. SAOS has developed a workshop aimed at anyone who’d like to know more about becoming a director.

Essentially it’s all about giving someone who might be interested in taking up a role as a Director of their local co-op, or show, or any other rural organisation, a better idea of what that would involve, what experience and competencies are needed and how to go about it.

The workshop on the 28th February from 10am – 3.30pm at the Dundee DoubleTree Hilton Hotel.

Aylett Roan of Roans Dairy took part in the workshop when it was run last year:

“I was not part of a board or committee before attending the course. It gave me insight and courage to put myself forward for Directorship of The Royal Highland Agricultural Show Society and I am also part of the Women in Agriculture Scotland Committee, both of which I am passionate about. I would encourage anyone, even if they are already part of a board, to spend the day on this course.”
